Keeping debris out of valleys and checking that ridge caps and flashing are still sealed goes a long way toward getting the full lifespan out of the tile and the underlayment beneath it.
Underlayment
Tile itself can last decades, but the underlayment beneath it usually wears out first — especially under Central Valley sun. A roof that looks fine from the ground can still need underlayment work if the tile is being reused. That's why a tile roof "replacement" is often really an underlayment replacement, with the existing tile removed carefully, reused, and reset once the new underlayment is down.
