FAQ

Questions people actually ask us.

Free estimates, materials, emergencies, and everything else — straight answers, no sales pitch.

Getting Started

Estimates & service area.

How do I get a free estimate?

Call (831) 313-3494 or send a few details through the contact form — we'll set up a time to come look at your roof in person.

What happens during a free estimate?

A real look at your roof in person, not a guess from a photo. If a repair or replacement makes sense, we'll walk you through the recommended system, project scope, and timeline before anything is decided.

What areas do you serve?

Merced is home base, plus the surrounding Merced County communities of Atwater, Livingston, Los Banos, Winton, Le Grand, Planada, and Delhi. See the full service area.

Is Raptis Roofing licensed?

Yes — Raptis Roofing holds a California Class B, C-39 contractor license.

Materials & Systems

What we build with.

What roofing materials do you work with?

Tile, metal (standing-seam and corrugated), and asphalt or architectural shingle for most homes, plus PVC, TPO, EPDM, and other low-slope systems for commercial buildings. We've also worked with slate and DECRA stone-coated steel.

What roofing material is most common in Merced?

Tile is the most common choice around Merced — it holds up to Central Valley heat better than most materials and matches the look of the neighborhood.

How do I know if I need a repair or a full replacement?

Widespread damage, multiple leaks, or a roof past its expected lifespan usually make replacement more cost-effective than ongoing repairs. A free inspection is the best way to get a straight answer for your specific roof.

Do you do commercial roofing?

Yes — flat and low-slope commercial systems including PVC, TPO, EPDM, cold-process, and cap-sheet roofing, in addition to residential work.

Emergencies & Insurance

When something goes wrong.

Do you handle emergency roof repairs?

Yes — 24/7 emergency roof repair is available for active leaks and storm damage.

Is roof repair covered by insurance?

That depends on your policy and the cause of the damage. We can help document the issue, but coverage decisions are made by your insurance provider.

What should I do right after storm damage?

Photograph the damage — the roof itself, any debris in the yard, and any interior water stains — both for your own records and for an insurance claim if you end up filing one.

Beyond Roofing

The rest of what we do.

Do you do more than roofing?

Yes — as a licensed Class B general contractor, we also handle painting, fencing, decks, ADU construction, and general contracting work.

Do you build ADUs?

Yes — accessory dwelling unit construction from the ground up.

Is Raptis Roofing locally owned?

Yes — Greek-owned and owner-operated, based in Merced, California.
