Shingles are supposed to lie flat. When edges start lifting or curling, it's often heat and age working together, and it means the shingle isn't sealing the way it should anymore.
3. Water Stains on Ceilings or Walls
By the time a stain shows up inside, water has usually found its way past more than one layer of protection. The stain is rarely the whole story — worth having someone trace it back to the source.
4. Daylight in the Attic
If you can see light coming through the roof deck from inside the attic, that's not a small gap — that's a direct path for water and pests both.
5. A Roof That's Just... Older
